Democracy You Can Trust

Government by the people, for the people.

Our democracy should work for all of us, not just the wealthy and the powerful. Right now, corruption, voter suppression, and corporate money distort our system and silence everyday people. In Congress, I’ll fight for bold reforms that make government more accountable, elections more accessible, and representation more fair.

The Basics

We all deserve leaders who work for us, not their own stock portfolios. I’ll fight for congressional term limits, a ban on stock trading by members of Congress, and stronger ethics rules at every level of federal office to restore public trust in government.

A healthy democracy depends on broad, fair participation. I’ll push for automatic voter registration, make Election Day a national holiday, and end voter suppression and gerrymandering that silence voices and rig outcomes.

We need a government that answers to voters, not billionaires and corporate donors. I’ll fight to ban dark money, support public financing of elections, overturn Citizens United, and demand real transparency in campaign spending.

True representation means making sure every voice counts. I’ll fight for reforms like ranked-choice voting, restoring voting rights to the formerly incarcerated, and full representation for D.C. and Puerto Rico. I’ll work to abolish the Electoral College so that every vote in every state carries equal weight, because democracy should belong to all of us.

FAQs

Ranked-choice lets voters rank candidates in order of preference. It eliminates “spoiler” fears, encourages more diverse candidates to run, and ensures winners have majority support.

The Electoral College means some votes count more than others, and it can let someone win the presidency without winning the most votes. That’s not real democracy. Abolishing it would ensure that every vote in every state carries equal weight, so the candidate with the most support from the American people actually wins. One person, one vote, plain and simple.

States aren’t people, voters are. Right now, the Electoral College gives a handful of swing states outsized power while millions of other voters are ignored. Abolishing it doesn’t take power away from anyone; it makes sure every single person’s vote counts equally, no matter where they live.

When elections aren’t controlled by billionaires and PACs, candidates who represent real communities, not corporate donors, have a fair shot. Public financing and transparency put power back in the hands of voters.

Too many members of Congress turn politics into a career rather than public service. Term limits bring in new voices, prevent entrenched corruption, and keep government responsive to the people.
